Arella E. Gussow

I am a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department and the Cognitive Science program at the University of Richmond. I teach a range of courses including Introduction to Cognitive Science, Psycholinguistics, Research Methods & Statistics, and an Advanced Seminar on the role of language in cognition, society, and technology. I also mentor students in research, working with them to develop and empirically test questions about language and cognition.

Before joining UR, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Language Production and Executive Control Lab at Indiana University-Bloomington. ​I earned my PhD at UW-Madison, where I researched Language Production processes in the Language & Cognitive Neuroscience Lab (LCNL).​ Before that, I completed an M.Sc in Cognitive Neuroscience of Language at the Basque Center on Brain, Cognition and Language (BCBL) in Spain; and a B.A in Psychology and Linguistics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel.
